Carolyn was quoted in an L.A. Times article, "Cleared of child abuse, but unable to clear name," about the problems of parents who are listed in the state's list of child abusers even if they are innocent. Carolyn wrote an amicus brief for the National Coalition for Child Protection in support of the parents. The case is now before the United States Supreme Court.

Today's New York T imes Magazine contained a special issue of Superlawyers, which listed the top 5% of attorneys in various fields of law, as voted by other attorneys. Carolyn and David were again named Superlawyers in Family Law.
Jill will be make a presentation to the Legal Association for Women on Monday, October 4, about Domestic Violence, Family Law, and Children's Rights. She will speak in particular about the decisions in Nicholson v. Scoppetta, which stopped New York City from removing children from victims of domestic violence. Jill was co-counsel for the plaintiffs in the cases.
On September 20, the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell, Columbia Law School, and Sanctuary for Families presented its 14th annual Pro Bono Achievement Award to our partner Jill Zuccardy.
At the event, attended by, among others, New York State Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman and Chief Administrative Judge of the New York City Family Court Edwina Richardson-Mendelson, Jill was lauded for her outstanding representation of clients in complicated custody matters and appeals. A photograph of the event was featured in the New York Law Journal.
The firm also honored Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney for her activism in protecting women and girls who are victims of sex trafficking.
